Personal Illustration – Taking a Summer Break 2025
Every year, I create a personal summer-themed illustration to announce my annual studio break. In 2025, I chose to visualize the feeling of refreshment and relaxation through a vibrant drink – sparkling, cool, and full of summery flair.
Those familiar with my work know that I have a special passion for illustrating food and beverages. They offer a perfect canvas for creating rich textures, vibrant colors, and capturing atmosphere in a visually striking way. This year’s subject – a cool drink under a wide blue sky, with the glittering sea in the background – is no exception. The idea behind it: to offer a brief moment of calm, lightness, and escape from the everyday routine.
The process started with early sketches on the iPad using Procreate. From there, I transferred the artwork to Adobe Illustrator, where I developed the final illustration – bold, clean, and full of expressive detail. The result is available both as a static composition and as an animated version.
In the animated version, sound and motion bring the scene to life: ice cubes and lemon slices gently float in the glass, while the sun sparkles over a calm ocean in the distance. Accompanied by the soft sounds of waves and chirping crickets, the animation invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and soak in a little summer feeling.
