SETMA Brand Design National Contest Winner for the City of Jijoca de Jericoacoara

Everything started with the National Contest for the a new brand logotype for SETMA, Municipal Secretariat of Tourism and Environment of Jijoca de Jericoacoara, the main creative challenge of the concept was to find a way to be simple, but at the same time represent the whole city, the environment and the incredible sense of freedom, all linked to nature, appropriating the natural wonders of the municipality to represent in a design everything that offers its tourists and visitors. From the lagoon, the serrote, the Pedra Furada, the sea and the iconic sunset in the dunes.
From the insight, we found this harmony in the sine waves that can represent everything, the frequency of life. We are all made of energy waves that resonate with each other and with our environment. Thus, the logo features the five colorful natural elements that unify and represent the city of Jijoca de Jericoacoara, from the lagoon, the serrote, the Pedra Furada, the sea and the iconic sunset in the dunes. We turned these elements into icons and unified those in sine curves, which means they are all part of an environment. We overlap the elements that connect with each other.
The main insight of the project was to unify all these elements using a design that represents the frequency, harmony and balance between all the natural beauty and the transcendent experience that the municipality provides for all people who enjoy the unique and wonderful moments of joy, happiness and peace. An extremely expressive brand, but light and harmonious. A visual representation of a paradise. The design was the winner of the National Contest for the SETMA logotype, which from that moment began to use it in events that the Secretariat would be part of. The logo was widely accepted in the community, which had its vote declared during the Contest.rnThe logo also won the A’Design Award 2018/19 in Milan and the Prêmio Lusofono of Creativity 2019 in Lisbon.
