Na Pele Dela’ is a photographic exhibition that defies us to reflect on the social, cultural and historical challenges of Women in our society.
A visual system was created, starting from a universal element, that representing the individual. The individual became a community, and the community became equality. Based on this element, was designed the key visual and the grid system, playing with the message and the strong images. And we’re very grateful for the opportunity to create its graphic identity.
Muse [feminine noun] – in Greek mythology, the muse was the protector of the sciences and arts, serving as an inspiration to ancient poets, its invocation in artistic work was considered a source of good luck. For this reason, they are considered semi-divine and associated with strong emotions, typical of creative expression. While this idea raised women to a level of power over art, being able to attribute or withdraw talent for artistic production, it also reveals a reality in which women are only relevant when in connection with men, the true creators. Its classic representation portrayed the nude muses, which normalized the use of the woman’s body as an object of study and aesthetic contemplation, but the further we move away from its original historical context, the better we can observe an abuse of this custom and the birth of a canon of unattainable feminine beauty that, when combined with the description of the Virgin, came to make the common woman insufficient and seen as an auxiliary to male pleasure.
