Pencil Studio Create New Identity and Packaging Design for Coppernose American Beef Jerky

Pencil Studio Create New Identity and Packaging Design for Coppernose American Beef Jerky

Established in the heart of the Cotswolds, CopperNose is the creation of two brothers, Liam and Daniel. Having grown up with authentic beef jerky, CopperNose was inspired to set a new standard in craft jerky. Using only 100% grass fed, ethically sourced British beef.

Jerky started back to the Native American tribes of North and South America. The word “jerky” comes to English by means of the Quechuan word meaning “dried meat.”

American Indians produced dried meat for preservation, as their nomadic lifestyle meant scarcity of access to food supplies. They did not have refrigeration in those days, so the best way to preserve the food was to dry it out using salt and other spices and take it with them on the move.

Coppernose wanted their packaging to reflect their heritage in the creation of the meat and how their methods are taken from Native Americans many years ago.

We worked with Coppernose helping them position their jerky brand in a thriving market. The bold packs pay homage to the very thing the brand is born from and the heritage of the product. Using distinctive patterns inspired by native americans who invented the snack and with bold colours to define the flavour cues.
