Gonzalo Gomez – Médanos

Médanos is a project carried out for the Cooperativa Obrera, as an academic work, selecting an existing client.

This work is based on the analysis of the sectors that have an impact on the productive system of the Bahía Blanca area, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The identification of the niche market in the production of garlic in the area gives rise to the development of a brand, as well as the design of packaging in local production, generating a specialization area for the export of the product to the main global consumers of Large white garlic: Brazil, France and the United States.

The client, the Cooperativa Obrera, is where all the garlic production in the area is centralized, so the projection of the product is in the packaging sector of the productive chain that occurs in this cooperative.

The packaging design is based on the aesthetics of the product it contains, as well as on its direct antecedent, the net bag. The projection of this product to the export market makes it essential to compete with products of the sector, that is why some lines that define the final image indicate a belonging to the item without leaving aside the differentiation strategy.
