Old Mout Cider Packaging Refresh

Old Mout Cider Packaging Refresh

Following the success of our limited-edition design for the WWF #HabitatHero 2022 Campaign, where we were challenged with crafting an award-winning design that took core cues from Old Mout’s partnership with WWF to protect habitats together to regrow the wild, the premium flavoured cider asked us to refresh their core packaging range to help them stand out in the growing noise of the cider category. Born from their New Zealand origins, our new design celebrates the upside down Kiwi spirit, taking their assets and amplifying them in a more impactful way that allows the Kiwi to take the lead and turn heads.

A New Zealand brand at heart, the team were inspired by nature and wanting to look after it. Their national icon, the Kiwi, was at risk of extinction and with Old Mout’s help, they’ve improved the status of the species from “endangered” to “vulnerable”, driven by the determination to help the population flourish once again across New Zealand.

The cider category is one which continues to grow, with challenger and disruptor brands looking to make their mark amongst the category leaders. The team wanted to ensure that Old Mout’s refreshed look would help the brand stand out on shelf in a noisy category and translate their passion of making great-tasting exotic fruit ciders.

Taking Old Mout’s existing assets, we flipped the world of flavour on its head, celebrating the upside down Kiwi spirit with bold fruit illustrations falling from the sky. To drive recognition of their distinctive brand asset, the inquisitive Old Mout Kiwi bird has been given more prominence on pack, whether sat on the wordmark gazing skywards, or heading off on another adventure on the cartons. The exciting new design drives standout at shelf, whilst maximising Old Mout’s iconic assets and bringing a little bit of Kiwi spirit to the UK.
