There’s nothing like enjoying a nice and refreshing crisp pint of cider in the beautiful English countryside. This wonderful place and it’s culture is a huge source of inspiration for my work. At least, that’s what I think. That’s why I designed a set of communication tools as a self initiated project for a fictional cider brand. Just one of my favourite drinks. The labels and basic communication tools I’ve designed for Newton’s Farmhouse Cider (a fictional brand of cider) reflect this idea through the use of a set of minimalistic and stylised illustrations based on the wildlife that’s typically found in the British countryside. These minimal illustrations based on geometrical shapes, limited angles and colours give the labels a contemporary look yet hold on to the traditional values and emotions that ar associated with the product. Each label depicts a different animal (Fox, Badger and Hare) and stands for a different variation of the cider, Original cloudy cider, Classic draught cider and Vintage reserve cider. Next to that, they give the bottles and every deviated communication tool such as billboards and posters, a “sixpack” wrapper, coasters and more a distinct look helping it to stand out from the competition. Not just on the store shelves but in all forms of media. Next to those I’ve created a concept for an advertising campaign as well. This concept can be applied to billboards and posters, adverts in magazines and even in television commercials with limited effort and costs.
