Description: Branding project with naming, logotype, outdoor signage, packaging and other applications for a special café in Piraeus, GR.
Strategy: We focused on the human need to contact and communicate, rendering this concept – both orally and visually – as a connecting element: a virtual bridge, a meeting point.
Naming: The solution emerged as a result of the aesthetical origin of the brand, the Scandinavian North, named after MÖTE (“meeting’’ in Norwegian).
Logo Design: The logotype is the result of a study on synthesis and subtraction, an exercise of balance between sharp edges and soft curves: a geometrical monogram. Circles (drops, cups, portafilters, and tampers) are interfering and symmetrically subtract the proportion of the material that they deserve from the initial capital letter of the brand name. Thus, two human forms are shaped, which are getting connected shaking hands. At the center of the monogram two more forms are projected on the negative background: the sun on the top and a coffee mug bellow it. A complete meeting scene!
Outdoor Labeling and Packaging: Regarding the outdoor signage and the packaging we applied a minimal aesthetic, in order for the brand name and the logotype to keep their forefront position.
Other Applications: The visual communication of the brand integrated a series of other applications, such as: a 3D wall motive, based on the cycles used for the design of the monogram, the menu, wrapping – serving paper, stickers, stands, etc.
