II designed the label for Morados, a vermouth made in London.

The project comes from the founders’ long stay in Buenos Aires and their origin in Yorkshire. It naturally sits somewhere in between those two places, not as a contrast, but as a blend of experiences, habits and ways of sharing time. There’s something about that overlap that feels familiar, especially around the culture of gathering, long conversations and the ritual of drinking together, which feels very present in both places in different ways.

I kept coming back to the idea of the table as a meeting point. Not just as an object, but as a space where things unfold over time. I took Sol Argentino by Petorutti as a loose reference, mainly for the way it holds light, warmth and color. Later, reading that he was interested in giving “life” to still life through light, something about that stayed with me and helped shape the direction of the project.

It made me think about the scene differently. Not a perfectly set table, but one that has already been lived in. Glasses left behind, marks on the surface, small traces that suggest what just happened without needing to show it directly. A moment that is no longer happening, but still present.

To me, that doesn’t feel empty or finished. It feels warmer, more human. There’s something more alive in what remains than in what hasn’t started yet. That sense of after, of shared time and quiet energy, became central to how the label was built and how the composition came together.
