Makanat Visual Identity by Studio Daadou

Makanat is the first platform in the Middle East dedicated to booking spaces for a wide variety of activities, from meetings and conferences to yoga classes and birthday celebrations.

Our goal in creating the visual identity for Makanat was to develop a versatile and energetic brand. This brand needed to effectively represent the diverse types of spaces available on the platform and the wide range of activities they can host. By emphasizing adaptability and vibrancy, we aimed to capture the essence of Makanat’s offerings and create a visually engaging experience for the users.

The idea behind the stretchable ´M´ logo was to visually represent the variety of functional spaces available through the software/app. I believe that the logo itself should be the strongest visual tool for this concept – bold and sharp-edged like a floor plan and capable of expanding and transforming into various shapes. This flexible approach allows the logo to adapt and morph, effectively conveying different spaces and environments through its versatile design. By using the letter ´M´ in this way, I aimed to create a logo that’s not only eye-catching but also communicates a sense of variability and flexibility in a simple, cohesive symbol.

I aimed for a strong contrast between the logo and the wordmark. My goal was to ensure the logo/ ´M´ served as the main identifier for the business. To achieve this, I chose a typeface that is medium or thin in weight, with a clean and minimal design that complements the logo without drawing attention away from it. This approach ensures the logo stands out while maintaining a cohesive look.
The boldness of the logo captures attention and conveys strength, while the lighter wordmark provides a sleek and minimal contrast. This balance highlights the logo’s importance and makes it memorable, ensuring that it remains the focal point in all branding materials.
