Los Volcanes Milk and Dairy Products deserved a packaging redesign that pays homage to its heritage while resonating with a younger, contemporary audience. The rebranding focuses on retaining the brand’s commitment to traditional, full-flavored dairy while injecting a sense of sophistication through a clean, sharp design. With a passion for modern design rooted in tradition, the goal was to create a new packaging concept that seamlessly bridges the rich heritage of Mexican milk production with a fresh, premium aesthetic.
Design Concept:
Inspired by Mexico’s awe-inspiring volcanoes, the design concept draws parallels between the natural purity of volcanic landscapes and the wholesome, unadulterated quality of Los Volcanes Milk in the Chalco Region at the Mexico City Valley. The minimalist approach aims to captivate the younger demographic by showcasing a perfect balance between modernity and tradition.

The new brand positioning is tailored to the discerning tastes of the younger generation, who appreciate the authenticity of traditional milk. Los Volcanes’ rebranding is a nod to those seeking a clean, premium experience without compromising the richness of full-flavored dairy.
The new logo, a fusion of modern typography and subtle volcanic imagery, takes center stage on the label. Positioned strategically for maximum visibility, it seamlessly integrates with the overall design, creating a cohesive and memorable new brand identity.
The color palette embraces the volcanic theme, featuring deep blue and gold tones that remember the original brand design. Clean, sans-serif fonts exude modernity, playing with a vintage script font for the primary product descriptor. The font usage ensures legibility while communicating the brand’s commitment to simple and honest natural dairy. The label communicates vital information concisely, making it effortless for consumers to connect with the product.
Traditional yet modern patterns form a subtle backdrop that reinforces the brand’s connection to Mexico’s pictorial history. The graphics are purposefully restrained, ensuring the focus remains on the product’s purity. A subtle cow icon enhances the product’s origin and helps communicate its regional authenticity. The cheese category focuses on simplicity and a super-rich flavor approach, appealing to Mexican cheese lovers and consumers.

In alignment with contemporary values, the selected packaging formats emphasize a select and premium approach to a known food commodity. From known UHT milk packaging to an original new PET dome for cheeses, the brand plays with each format as a natural brand extension. Los Volcanes is not just a brand; it’s a commitment to modern packaging and traditional homage, mirroring the harmony between nature and tradition.
