History embroidered by hand.
About the factory — Krestetskaya strochka is a unique craft of needle embroidery, which originated in the XIX century in Novgorod region. The works of the factory craftswomen are in the collections of the State Hermitage Museum, the Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts, the Russian Museum as well as in private collections.
Task.
To create a delicate graphic style that does not interfere with perception of fine northern embroidery. To update the visual image of the brand, to make it modern but carefully preserve historical heritage of the craft. To emphasize the uniqueness of cross-stitch embroidery done by hand on which a craftswoman spends many hours.
Solution.
We kept the bird image from the previous version of the logo, at the same time we made it lighter and introduced clear geometric lines typical for Krestets embroidery. We developed packaging that neatly frames the textiles and emphasizes the handwork — each envelope is stitched by hand at the factory. Each craftswoman was given an individual stamp with their name which they put on the packaging. The tags on each piece have a place to mark number of hours spent on embroidering the product.
We paid special attention to each carrier of the brand, from the birth of embroidery to the moment of sale, from the factory building in the village of Kresttsy to the store in the center of St. Petersburg.
