Kontrapunkt Creates Brand Platform and Visual Identity Design for Football Club FC Copenhagen

At the core of Copenhagen’s vibrant football scene, FC København represents more than just a football team – it’s a cultural icon, a community, with supporters at the heart of the brand. Stepping onto the pitch with creativity and precision, the branding and design agency Kontrapunkt crafted a brand platform and visual identity for FC København that embodies the spirit of one of Denmark’s most iconic football clubs.

The lions and lionesses of FCK defending the city. Drums supporting the tribune at Parken Stadium. Landmark buildings representing the city of Copenhagen. Each element of FC København’s new club crest reflects the club’s connection to their dedicated fans and the city they call home.

The primary logo has been refined to have a more modern and bold expression. Additionally, a standalone lion symbol has been introduced as part of the extended brand elements. This brings a fresh, contemporary look while still honoring one of the brand’s core components. Where the new club crest emphasizes local pride and heritage as the emblem of the football club, the standalone lion represents a more global and lifestyle-driven expression.

The new brand update further entails a new color palette including colorways for the new women’s team and a new communications concept, as well as two new custom typefaces inspired by Copenhagen’s street signs, bringing a touch of local tone to FCK’s visual language. Every design element speaks to the club’s storied legacy and boundless potential.

Kontrapunkt’s collaboration with FCK has resulted in a visual identity that not only captures the excitement and energy of the game but also respects and involves the passionate community that supports it. It sets the stage for a continued journey ahead as champions on local grass and as challengers in Europe.
