How do you design a cider label named Hill Station?
By combining freshness and nostalgia to communicate the brand story.
Bira 91, the world’s fastest-growing premium beer company wanted to expand its portfolio and launch ‘Hill Station Hard Cider Ales’ under the endorsed architecture of ‘House of Bira 91. The launch would be part of the company’s move to bring new categories beyond beers, in congruence with the increasing demand for ready-to-drink options and a growing generation of consumers enthusiastic about experimenting with flavors.
The ‘Hill Station’ brand name evokes a feeling of Nostalgia. The word Hill Station for most of us intuitively brings us back to an innocent memory. Made from a blend of the freshest Himalayan apples and mountain barley, the flavors of these Hard Cider Ales would be dry and mildly sweet with a hint of malt and full flavor of orchard-fresh apples.
The brief was to build brand story around the ingredient, the freshness and the hill station vibe and create a distinct set of brand assets which could transport the audience to simple pleasures of life.
The storytelling of a train coming through the Hill Station and the apple orchard in a vintage effect is an essential part of our design language. Every visual captures the mysticism of the hills. Our illustration has been crafted to show nostalgia and freshness of the handpicked orchard apples. Different colours of the sky have been used to distinguish between product flavours which reflects in the packaging as well as the communication.
