Hello Monday created this package design for B&O Play headphones, which target an audience that cares about music and technology, but are also in-tune with fashion and utilize their headphones as an accessory. The packaging reflects a high-end look for the headphone category with sleek photography, that is bold and minimal.
“B&O PLAY is the sister brand of world renowned hi-fi producer Bang & Olufsen. B&O PLAY is targeted towards the young urban creative professionals of the world. An audience that cares passionately about music and therefore values well sounding, well crafted, intuitive and well designed audio products.
For B&O PLAY, we designed a series of packaging for their wearable products: in-ear, on-ear and over-ear headphones. To the target audience, these products are just as much fashion accessories as they are audio equipment. They buy products that fit their on-the-move lifestyle but also match their favorite jacket or handbag.
The idea behind the packaging is to push the design of the product forward in clean simple units with a couple of subtle design surprises like product matched colors inside the units. Each headphone has a playlist that is matched to the feature and typical use scenarios of the product, which can be accessed directly from scanning the QR on the unit.”
