This is one of the most important projects that I have been hired to work on. Gugark was the 13th province of the ancient Kingdom of Armenia. It now comprises parts of northern Armenia, northeast Turkey, and southwest Georgia.

In this region, the main alcoholic drink was red wine for centuries, but now in this region, or part of the region that is in Armenia people don’t grow grapes, so this is a kind of tribute and memorial to those ancient days, to those masters, farmers, families who had been working on the ancient wineries.

The idea of the label is the following: to represent medieval Armenian family members or mythical persons side by side, or as one unique group. They should wear traditional clothing from medieval ages. I have three characters and all these three are related to each other, but we don’t know how exactly. You can say one is the mother, another is a wife and one is her husband, but it is open for interpretation. You can also find some old, non-Christian roots in this illustration.

The colors of the label are simple and minimalistic: shades of grey and gold-ish. It is not the usual rectangular shape, instead, we can see that characters are aiming to go outside, and none of them are looking toward us.

Clients had some minor adjustments after the first draft, but now you can see what was the final version and this product is ready for production.

The pricing. The pricing of this product will be about $10-13 and this product should be exported to the US, Canada, and Russia. The price will be much higher in the countries mentioned above.

I enjoyed the whole process from hand drawing to the final mockups and soon – product on the markets.
