Funko Pops are fun collectible figurines that impersonate celebrities, movie and book characters. Company’s aim is to provide consumers tangible ways to take their fandom offline. Funko Pop figurines are strange and authentic, but very detailed, cute and stylish. There is a great, very well-known Funko Pop collection dedicated to Harry Potter world. As a true Harry Potter fan, I decided to create a Funko Pop 3D promotion showcase, but connected to the last part of the saga: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, severe, dark and gloomy.

I used Blender to create this 3D showcase and tried to show different shades and types of plastic, which figurines are made from. Characters and dragon figurine was made with sculpting mode to provide the small shapes and details of their bodies. They were colorized with the help of texture paint. The lighting is contrasting and green to convey the atmosphere of dark magic in the latest Harry Potter movie.

The inspiration came from the scene, when Harry, Ron and Hermione robbed Gringotts bank and flew away from the chase on a white exhausted dragon imprisoned in a dungeon. I showed the drama in 3D exposition. At the same time I adhered to the concept of cuteness and original style of Funko Pop brand.

This showcase could be the part of the promotional video or could stand inside of a Funko Pop store as an example of POS material, showing the exclusive Harry Potter collection. This showcase provides the connection between pop culture, 3D art and original book and movie world.
