Exploring INCASE: Student Tupchienko Ekaterina’s Vision of Nature and Protection

Exploring INCASE: Student Tupchienko Ekaterina’s Vision of Nature and Protection

INCASE — is an atelier of bird and butterfly wing covers who want to protect their wings from a dangerous environment with style.

INCASE is a combination of wildlife and its artificial imitation. Just as the wing covers are integrated into the environment, so the building is in harmony with the environment.

The exhibition space contains many natural forms and elements. The building has multicolored glass and windows to let in more natural light and make the space more spacious. Colored glass is visible to birds and butterflies, which helps visitors fly safely and avoid crashing. Furniture and interior made of artificial materials imitate the texture and shape of natural objects and fit into the natural environment around.

The catalog format for the center is horizontal, which helps to convey both the expanses inside the space itself and the natural valley around it. Slits or figures of smooth streamlined shapes are found in the catalog for a reason. They repeat the shapes of the exhibition windows.

Typography embodies a combination of wildlife and its artificial imitation. The colored text flies like butterflies as it is read, and the fine gray stands flat, complementing and explaining the main text. The navigation icons inside the space, as well as the main font of the titles of the publication, also support the idea of harmony of wildlife and its imitation. Curving lines and shapes flow into smooth and clear geometric lines.

The catalog contains information about the space itself, about its structure and navigation, about the interior and furniture. The rest of the publication is devoted to the models of covers, which are presented at the exhibition in the form of proportionally enlarged reproductions. The book contains information about the date of creation of the cover, the exhibition to which it belongs and the material from which it is made.
