Creative Flow Create Gdynia Metropolitan Public Library Branding and Promotion

“A library for everyone. Łódź, Gdynia, Kraków, Bergen – different cities, a common idea. Increasing access to culture – model Polish and Norwegian solution” is a project co-created by the Municipal Library of Lodz, the Metropolitan Public Library of Gdynia, the Regional Public Library in Cracow, the Bergen Offentlige Bibliotek. It pursues its goal through extensive audience research, training for library staff and events addressed to urban residents, migrants and excluded groups.

Our task in this initiative was to develop a logotype together with a brand book, to prepare the visual identity of the project and the website together with its programming. Such a comprehensive action allowed us to thoroughly understand the idea of the project and translate it into a graphical language.

Work on the project proceeded in several stages, starting from the heart of the idea (the logotype), through creating a unique key visual that reflects the emotional values of the brand and its key message, to adapt the developed graphic line to other elements of the entire visual identity, such as posters, flyers, presentation templates and gadgets.

The icing on the cake of our project was the creation of a website that informs our audiences about the project, conducted research and planned events, and reports the progress of ongoing activities. The website is available in both desktop and mobile versions, and considering the target groups of this project, the website has three language versions: Polish, English and Ukrainian.

The leitmotif of the visual identity we have created is to reflect the core value of this project – multicultural integration. It was a great joy and pleasure for us to be able to co-create a space where people can meet other people who share their love for literature, a place where everyone feels equal, regardless of nationality, skin color, profession of faith, religion or beliefs, which is particularly important nowadays.
