I’m a graphic designer and illustrator from Argentina currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I have been working for the last ten years as a designer in both countries mostly in the advertising industry and branding agencies. In addition to this, I’m passionate about typography and illustration and the role these two can play in a brand or packaging as a storytelling element. As a personal philosophy, I believe paying attention to details can make the difference, that is the reason I always try to apply this principal to my work and also into my personal projects or commissions.

This submission is a 2021 Illustration and Art project among my creative peer from back home where we had to create retro or vintage artworks, using typography, illustrations or some form of art. Showing something that has always inspired us and makes us do what we do today. I’ve always loved old stamps and their tiny artworks so in this case I chose to create my own version, I created three different illustrations. One of my main sources of inspiration are animals and nature, so I wanted to show them on these artworks. My favourite animals are the rhinoceros from Africa, the impalas and the marine turtle from Northern Australia.

All these illustrations are handmade, black and white using just a fineliner pen 0.1 and 0.3, and the technique is called stippling or dotwork. Making just dots next to each other, I create volume and depth to finally create an hyperrealist pictures. The actual size is around an A5 paper, and once I finished drawing them, I scanned and coloured them digitally in Adobe Photoshop and created the stamp frame to give an old look and feel. I have chosen that colour palette to make contrast between the three artworks and to mimic the old stamps colours.
