Ciumai is a winery with a legacy dating back to the mid-20th century.
Despite its long-standing presence and recognition within the Moldovan wine landscape, the brand had not previously positioned itself within the premium segment. This new release was set to become the first in an exclusive collection — a wine that would embody the depth, character, and craftsmanship of the estate. To match the significance of the product, a distinctive and sophisticated visual identity was required: one that would not only signal its luxurious status, but also tell a story rooted in tradition, terroir, and philosophy.

The team at 43oz Studio developed a concept that revolves around a stylized buffalo head — a powerful visual symbol referencing the Moldovan coat of arms and expressing a deep connection to the land of origin. This iconic centerpiece is surrounded by carefully composed esoteric motifs, which evoke the mystery and reverence surrounding the art of winemaking. Together, these elements form a composition that is both expressive and meaningful, inviting the viewer to discover layers of narrative hidden within the design.

To elevate the tactile and visual experience, the label employs a rich combination of production techniques. A sculptural 3D emboss brings depth and volume to the central icon, while delicate blind debossing adds subtle texture and nuance. Gold foil stamping completes the design, emphasizing key visual accents and reinforcing the wine’s premium positioning.
