CF Napa Brand Design Creates Bespoke Tribute to Michigan Wilderness for Fox & Oden
Holland, Michigan craft distillery Fox & Oden came to CF Napa Brand Design with the task of creating the custom bottle and spirits packaging for their new super-premium North American whiskey. The name “Fox & Oden” was inspired by Michigan’s notoriously cunning red foxes, and the island of Oden, a majestic retreat off the Up North portion of the state. The packaging needed to embody the rugged beauty of northern Michigan while maintaining a sense of luxury.

CF Napa Brand Design designed a custom bottle reminiscent of vintage whiskey decanters. The wordmark’s hand drawn type gave the whiskey a bespoke sensibility and the delicate gold foil accents reinforced the whiskey’s premium positioning. CF Napa Brand Design commissioned an illustrator to capture our vision of the namesake fox emerging through the tall pines. A dark wood closure and top strip label provided the final touches to this new craft American whiskey.
“A blend of 8- to 15-year-old bourbons using 21% and 36% rye mashbills. On the nose, butterscotch, fig, and nutmeg. On the palate, initial smooth salted caramel transitions into smoky charred oak, leather, and warm baking spices, accented with a hint of tobacco.”
