From the land of coffee, comes a tea, that demanded the same sense of uniqueness in its packaging. A product range from Luxmi Tea, Silverback Tea has a one-of-a-kind origin story. Grown in the heart of Rwanda, from nature and by nature, Silverback tea is a luxury tea that is born wild – in the confluence of flora and fauna coming together.

To introduce the best of Rwandan tea to the world and become the mindful choice of fine, luxurious and perfect tasting tea of every tea lover

Named after the mighty Silverback Gorillas who neighbour the plantations and often pay the estates a visit, this bright,
brisk and golden cup of tea is of superior quality and taste in every sip.

Every cup gives back to the land, more than it takes. Taking care of the earth and the people it comes from. The packaging had to bring a slice of Rwanda, to every shelf.
Having free access to the tea estates, our storyteller became the Silverback Gorilla. The gentle giant looks over every leaf and hence every cup, which is why it found itself in the prime spot in our packaging with an intricate illustration in all its glory.
Spanning four different blends, the colours chosen were derived from nature. Lush greens of the Nyungwe forests, calming blues from the Nile, and chromes from the rustic earth. We made sure, each piece sang the tunes of Rwanda and the designed patterns were inspired by Rwanda’s Imigongo art, traditionally used on the walls of huts in local villages. These repetitive, bold, geometric shapes were used to depict the landscape on the packaging. All of this came together in a holistic way to box the finest cup of tea Rwanda has to offer.
