Horenka is a scenic place near Kyiv, Ukraine, surrounded by three lakes, a green forest, and a sandy beach.
This place inspired Grape to create a brand name – Pleskit, which means “splash” in Ukrainian, and after that, we also developed the brand identity, merch, and communication strategy. The different conditions of the lakes and the volume of the blows on the water motivated us to create a live identity. In communication, Pleskit became the place for all things that you cannot do in the city.
We used a Cyrillic spelling of the brand name “Плескіт”. This spelling reminiscents the Ukrainian origin of the word and eliminates difficult and erroneous readings of the brand name.
Word Pleskit is full of lakeness, leisure, and water activities. That is a place where you can escape from the traffic jams, deadlines, and city routine. The secret place where you can run to the wood every morning, swim a lot, go yachting or hiking, and meet the sunrise from the porch of your lakefront cottage. Pleskit is a place to afford everything you cannot do in the city: splashing in the lake, running barefoot, and discovering new water hobbies.
We record water sounds in Horenka: splashing, gurgling, purling, and so on. Then showed these sounds in static: lines of different sizes and amplitudes. The graphic line, which always could exist in various states, became the key element of Pleskit identity.
The natural colors of the territory formed the basis of the palette. We also expressed a lakeness through our own icons and showed lake lifestyle by thematic merch.
