Bombay Sapphire Artists Edition Series Packaging Design

For its “Saw This, Made This” campaign, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® collaborated with acclaimed director Baz Luhrmann to invite diverse individuals to reshape their world with imagination. Luhrmann’s philosophy, “The World Is A Gallery,” emphasises that creativity extends beyond studios and galleries. All one need to do is open their eyes to the magic in everyday life, and then even the most familiar moments become rich with beauty and inspiration.

In alignment with this vision, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®’s creative partners at Knockout skillfully brought this campaign to life on the shelf through three distinct limited edition bottles, showcasing creators from Greece, Germany, and Italy. The core objective of the campaign was to seamlessly integrate these artists’ works onto BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®’s iconic bottles while maintaining the brand’s visual identity. As an agency that has supported BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® by bringing several new propositions to market over the past five years, Knockout demonstrated a deep understanding and respect for the brand’s iconic equities, knowing precisely how they could and could not be flexed.

For the Greek market, fashion designer Vassia Kostara harnessed the aromatic and ephemeral essence of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®’s taste profile, translating it into an intricate pattern of voluminous blue flowers. Knockout transferred this pattern onto the bottle, capturing the enchanting allure of full blooms while complementing the brand’s attributes.

Italian artist Paolo Stella took creativity to boundless heights with an abstract design that intertwined shapes, colours, and materials. Knockout transformed Stella’s ethereal landscape into an immersive bottle design, elegantly exemplifying the infinite potential of creativity.

German fashion designer Kilian Kerner unified the works of three artists into a single piece of art that mirrored the creative essence of everyday life. Knockout skillfully translated Kerner’s richly textured creation onto the bottle, showcasing BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®’s iconic equities in a striking manner.

Each bottle in this Artist Edition range allows consumers to see BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® through a new lens, which was an exciting prospect for Knockout as they worked to find the right balance with a design that celebrated both the vision of artists and the iconic brand. The result is a truly beautiful range of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® bottles that show just how creative inspiration is everywhere.
