Bioart Laboratories Foundation, located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, functions as a gateway to a world of unlimited possibilities, where science, nature, technology and creativity go hand in hand. The organization is engaged in research and popularization of biology and art. The company’s territory hosts educational events, exhibitions, experiments, competitions, etc.

The graphics are based on the font “Fusie”, inspired by the fusion of technology and biology in bioart. The font was developed specifically for the corporate identity of BIOART LAB and presents two alternative versions: kunstmatig and natuurlijk. The first one represents the synthetic world and is a framework. The second version symbolizes the biological part of bio-art, where bacteria grow on the frame, creating new unique forms. In addition, the branding includes animated graphics based on the font, conveying the interaction of microorganisms in a Petri dish as part of an exhibit of the bioart movement – a movement in contemporary art where the authors work with living tissue, bacteria, microorganisms.

Generative graphics are a kind of “soup” in which microorganisms and bacteria are boiled, preparing to turn into art under the artist’s hand. The font can act as an independent unit, becoming the center of the composition and being its main object, or mixed with “biological” graphics, merging into something new. At the same time, the color palette colors these compositions in five basic colors taken from the world of microbiology and referring to the company’s activities – bioart.
