Beekeepers Association of Northern Portugal by CIGA

Beekeepers Association of Northern Portugal by CIGA

The Association of Beekeepers of Northern Portugal (AANP) was founded on 28 October 1959 with the aim of supporting beekeepers not only in the northern region but throughout the country. This all-encompassing vision since its foundation has shaped the AANP’s identity and mission over more than six decades. As a non-profit, non-governmental organisation based in Porto, the AANP has established itself as a fundamental pillar in the development and preservation of beekeeping in Portugal. Its visual identity reflects both its rich beekeeping heritage and its commitment to innovation and progress in the sector.

A crucial element of the new identity is the creation of a universal slogan, designed to be used on all the association’s communication media. This slogan aims to capture the essence of the AANP and its overarching mission, reinforcing the association’s message in all its interactions and materials. In addition, the AANP has decided to prominently feature its aanp.pt portal in all its communications. The aim is to establish this website as the main reference point for beekeeping in Portugal, offering information, resources and support to beekeepers across the country.

The new AANP logo incorporates elements that symbolise beekeeping. The predominant colours – yellow and blue – were chosen carefully: yellow evokes honey and the vitality of bees, while blue represents the northern region of Portugal, with its rivers and coastline, although the association’s work extends throughout the country. The typography used in the AANP’s new identity is a harmonious combination of classic and modern fonts. The classic typeface conveys the tradition, reliability and experience accumulated over the years. The modern font symbolises the association’s adaptability, its openness to innovation and its vision for the future of beekeeping.

This fusion of elements in the corporate identity, together with the universal slogan and the consistent promotion of the aanp.pt portal, aims to communicate the essence of the AANP: an organisation that honours its historical roots, remains relevant in the present and is prepared to lead the future of beekeeping in Portugal.

The AANP’s new identity thus becomes more than a visual symbol; it is an integral representation of its ongoing commitment to beekeepers across the country, to the preservation of bees and to the sustainable development of Portuguese beekeeping, while always maintaining a special link with its origins in the north and serving as a central point of information and support through its online portal.
