Bee Comic has been developed with the title “The Adventure of the Smiling-eyed Bee” to continue and affirm the story of BeeSchool – a leading English training center in Vietnam, while conveying the message “Enjoy learning English” to the community, especially children. Bee Comic is also considered a bedside story book for kid learners when studying at BeeSchool, as a “first meeting” to raise awareness about personal branding, and also a background to support the kids during their study there.

Challenges
In order to bring the brand’s story closer to the community, the storybook needs to demonstrate a coherent identity image and shows the character’s spirit, so that readers can easily remember the brand story of Bee School. Therefore, it is required for Bee Comic to develop its image based on the basic features of the brand while ensuring the connection with the current details.

Solutions
Based on the images which have been built previously, Bee Comic further develops the character of the bee KaKa, with images designed for the scenes throughout the journey to find his sister KiKi. There are now not only the Mascot of the smiling-eyed bee KaKa, but also many other images and characters, all inspired by Beeschool’s font system, which are depicted in curves, circles and straight lines, clearly showing the brand’s personality as being both healthy and strong, fun and playful, while not compromising the unity of the brand. In addition to that, the “smile” which has been developed by Tree is also added with various expressions, presenting the cheerful and optimistic spirit of the brand.
As a comic book for children, the colors need to be vivid to describe various states but still have to maintain the harmony. Besides the three key colors of dark blue, turquoise and yellow, Tree has selected more combinations of colors and tones as adornments to every single detail to help the kids experience a better feeling when reading the storybook.
With the emphasis on the difference to enhance brand recognition, all the Icons developed by Tree in the comic are unique creations which are only available in Bee Comic.

Achievements
After the process of ideation, implementation and finalization, the story book “The Adventure of the Smiling-eyed Bee” has been published by the Publishing House of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and now officially available on the market. It can be said that Bee Comic is a “wave” of media that helps Beeschool to be widely known. At the same time, this is also a project that affirms the professionalism and quality in the educational environment at Beeschool.
