Inspiration: Spumante Limari is a winery exclusively dedicated to the elaboration of sparkling wines under an accurate interpretation of the Methode Champenoise. The Limari Valley, is located in the 4th Region of Chile. It has one of the most transparent skies over the planet, a unique characteristic for the observation of the universe. Its extraordinary clarity and low level of cloud cover make it a world reserve concerning stars. From this point you may watch the different constellations of the southern hemisphere, the moon and the planets. Considering the value of the sky as a natural heritage. Azur, Millesime, represents a woman dancing with the universe. In her hands she carries the moon and the sun which also rotate along with her in her rotation movement, like the earth. The color black has been used in this packaging to symbolize the darkness of the night and the silver and gold applications capture the importance of the moon and the sun in the Limari Valley. Evoking a music box, music especially composed for this project, accompanies the movements of the bottle.
Unique Properties / Project Description
Azur, Millesime, is a Sparkling Wine presented as a packaging in motion interpreting a woman dancing with the universe. She carries the moon and the sun while rotating. The bottle rotates in one direction, while the two lateral lines that symbolize the arms of the dancing woman rotate in the opposite direction. The sun’s rays are drawn on her dress, whose lines play with each other transparently. From an overhead view of the bottle, a sun may be seen spinning with the brand at its center.

Specifications / Dimension / Package / Technical Properties
The glass bottle has a height of 30.4 cm. The production of the Capo relies on sand casting injection in brass. It has a rhodium surface finish to give it a silver-gray color and a polished appearance. The muzzle is made of polished brass with rhodium-plated applications. The necklet’s neck is molded using the wax casting technique and polished to achieve a shiny surface finish. The base section is made of black chrome-plated brass. The arms are made of black powder-coated aluminum.
This Sparkling Wine bottle includes an innovation in the top closure, with a double muzzle. The external one was specially designed. Between both muzzles, there is a metallic hood and the traditional sparkling wine cork. The conical and oval box is inspired by the rotational movement of the earth, it has a sun and includes a perforation at the top to reveal the Spumante Limari isotope. Its closure consists of two side metal clasps that are rotated in order to obtain a 100% safe closure.
Creative / Research Challenge
A main creative challenge has been designing a moving packaging representing a dancing woman, the earth, in harmony with the apparently rotating sky. The dual-rotation display engine provides a smooth rotation mimicking the earth rotation. The innovation in the double muzzle with Capo involved a lot of precision work in the execution, as it contains the inner muzzle. The bottle features embossing all around its circumference. It required several preliminary tests to achieve the interaction of movement between them.
