Ancestral is a concept halfway between wine and Cava, something that not everyone knows or can do. This executive rarity was what we tried to represent in our design, the minimum possible intervention, just ink and stamping. Trying to add value and create a very interesting game of shadows and lights, like the colour of the product itself. We close the bottle with a cap, which is much more interesting for us, due to the type of project, and to better define the complete bottle. At a typographic level, we have outlined a lettering created especially for this label, totally gestural, honest and that is interpreted as the annotations made by the winegrower on the boots with his own chalk. All this takes us to a world where the unnecessary does not exist, only the product, the bottle and the minimum intervention on the label. Without even a small tasting note. These types of products are of very low production, this one specifically 350 units, so on the front there is a handwritten number, by the winegrower himself, made in pencil and with his signature, trying to support the discourse of simplicity and the good work.
This project is the culmination of a series of Heretat Laverna wines, an organic viticulture project in Torrelles de Foix (the heart of Penedès). A heretat (a very large house from the 15th century) in the middle of 100 hectares of vineyards, where this product comes from, from a small plot of parellada that is more than 80 years old, planted in a goblet, a rare thing in the area.
