AK Alüminyum is a tech-driven business-to-business trading company specialized in import-export of aluminium products manufactured in Turkey and distributed worldwide.
AK’s identity was inspired by the combination of pure and clear shapes from the manufacturing techniques and the aluminium, their main product.
The result is a typographically led direction that revolves around a bespoke serif typeface, a custom-designed word mark and a bright spot color that is implemented across the brand representing the innovative spirit of the company. Other colours are black and white that are the base colors for the brand, acting as a blank canvas. The identity creates dynamic, free-form digital compositions that also incorporate the logo and other imagery. The development of a new identity is the result of the company mindset that is actively seeking change rather than waiting to adapt to change and this result can be translated in the overall visuals. There’s never been a willing from the company of building a static visual identity but rather have a system that could easily change and be developed during the years. The design team implemented this solution through the use of 3D visuals that are connected to a specific realistic visual style where the AK logo totally integrates within the natural and artificial elements around it. In this way we also established new guidelines for brand photography that feels real and authentic, rather than staged, reflecting the idea that AK brings people together.
