Mindscape is an award-winning multidisciplinary studio using cutting-edge immersive technologies to turn briefs into multisensory and visually impactful realities. With a history of over a decade, their services include video mapping, virtual production, augmented reality (AR), interactive experiences, and motion design, answering to challenges from the most diverse clientele.
The industry of project mapping, motion design and AR/VR is always at the forefront of digital innovation and groundbreaking immersive experiences. Forever growing at an alert pace, constantly fueled by discoveries in technology and demands people have for a more engaging visual content, more fascinating entertainment and unique experiences. That is the industry in which Mindscape emerged and has grown for the past 10 years.
Mindscape contacted our studio at exactly the right time for several reasons. First of all, people perceived them as a production company with a predominantly technical profile. Also, at that time their team was growing and the studio was expanding its services, Mindscape wanting to enter much more competitive international markets with already known and established brands. To this end, they decided to switch from a local online presence (mindscape.ro) to an international identification (mindscape.studio).
Therefore, our studio aimed to tailor a versatile identity that would differentiate Mindscape from other competitors in the industry and bring a consistent and relevant tone of voice and persona in the mix.
The brief had the clear purpose of radically changing the visual identity and the communication strategy Mindscape had at that moment — a rigid strategy, almost strictly informational and with very little possibilities of efficiency. What our studio wanted to achieve in solving the client’s brief was a fresh, powerful and simple identity that would let the Mindscape projects talk for themselves while capturing the brand’s essence, vision, and core values that make the company stand out in a crowded market.
Strategy
The whole strategy is built around the positioning statement ”Amplifying worlds”, that captures the brand’s essence and promise of revealing untapped possibilities of our shared spaces, of creating works that are emotionally impactful and of creating totally new worlds.
The verb „amplify” is carefully crafted to be the core of Mindscape’s communication strategy. The visual identity is unapologetically simple and impactful, a play of basic elements that work great together. We took one of the most basic shapes — the square — and found a mechanism that would let us keep it simple yet skilfully convey the brand promise.
A new design wasn’t the only stake of the project. It was more about a paradigm shift, a reformation of the entire communication mechanism, from the online website, newsletter and social media visuals to every offline presence.
The colors—black & white—are the most versatile colors, easily adapting to various mediums and platforms, while leaving space for the amazing projects to be impressive by themselves. Suisse Int’l typeface brings a clean and contemporary vibe to the table, its subtle curves suggesting movement, flexibility, and adaptability.
When it comes to the logo, we made the transition from a simple monogram of the letter M to a container and a symbol powerful enough to support the brand promise. The logo is a mechanism of two squares that allows us to keep things simple, while giving Mindscape’s communication a twist that makes the brand truly unique and that encapsulates the brand promise of amplifying worlds.
After thorough evaluation, we tailored a tone of voice that gravitates around three key attributes that successfully define Metaminds: Visionary, Determined, Enthusiastic. This step was followed by developing guidelines and suggestions that put this tone of voice to use.
The rebranding process not only gave Mindscape a voice worth hearing but also checked a lot of boxes that met our client’s expectations. Our client was particularly impressed by how smooth the brand interacts with the public in all relevant touchpoints, fostering powerful emotional connections.
The entire mechanism was comprehensive, seamlessly functional across all relevant digital, physical, and virtual environments. This kind of flexibility allowed Mindscape to reach its audiences through diverse channels, enhancing the overall impact.
Results
Following the rebranding process, Mindscape has experienced significant growth as a company. Since 2023. Mindscape has been elevating its market presence, attracting new clientele while also maintaining a close relationship with existing clients.
Mindscape’s main achievement was its strategic expansion into the Middle East, with a significant focus on key markets, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar. This expansion effort has been instrumental in positioning Mindscape as a prominent player in emerging and dynamic entertainment landscapes. Currently, over 70% of Mindscape’s operations are conducted in these thriving regions, indicative of the immense potential and eagerness to establish themselves as hubs of the entertainment sector.
Mindscape’s consistent presence and cohesive visual communication has facilitated their entry and establishment in various vibrant events, art, and entertainment markets of the United States.
These engagements have heightened Mindscape’s visibility and fostered valuable connections and partnerships critical for sustained growth and market penetration. All these initiatives have resulted in a notable increase in market share and brand recognition within the Middle East and the United States.
Mindscape’s client base has expanded significantly, with a growing portfolio of successful projects and collaborations garnering positive feedback and acclaim within the industry. Also, the company’s growth compared to the previous year increased by almost 40%.
