Superbad Studio Visual Identity and Self Promotion

Superbad Studio aims to pay attention to be unique and exclusive in creative communications and image production. Designing a visual identity, it works hard to reflect its free spirit and philosophy while using a corporate language. The Studio’s logo, which is the first element of its ID, is formed of its capitals that are like Siamese twins. As every logo needs to have one, it has a distinctive, balanced structure with reassuring calligraphic style. It creates the optical illusion resembling a ribbon wrapped around something. Because it possesses a free and positive soul, the color palette consists of vivid and warm hues. The ID’s other most important feature is typography. The font in use, due to its professional stance and a tasteful preference, is “Gothia Serif”, which belongs to the Swedish type founder @lettersfromsweden. Another feature that we encounter is the four-colored monogram. As an assisting element, two s letters intertwine and connect two spots. It’s meant as a symbol for the necessity of flexible ideals, wide minds, and the importance of molding shapes into aesthetic forms. For self-promotional intentions, photoshoots of a model has been turned into symmetrical and harmonious, blotted compositions.

Alican Pek and Cem Yurdakul, an Istanbul-based artist duo with a background in art direction, photography, and graphic design founded Superbad to provide unconventional creative communication and image-making ideas for their clients within a self-defined creative space of freedom.
